Responsibilities:Develop and implement the biological safety programs including administration of the Institutional Biosafety Committee, Bloodborne Pathogens program, and Medical Waste Management program. Management of the Animal Care and Use Occupational Health Program (ACUOHP). Oversee biosafety training, inspections, and Biological Use Authorizations. Minimize risk of biohazards to the UCSC community by implementing health and safety policies while complying with applicable federal, state and local regulations and guidelines.

Credentials: B.S. in Biochemistry, University of Victoria, B.C., CANADA. Member of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA). Certified shipper Class 6 Division 6.2 – Infectious Substances. 40-hour HAZWOPER.
