EH&S has an excellent video on the effects of the Northridge earthquake on the campus there. It's called "Academic Aftershocks" and is 45 minutes long, with lots of footage of the types of damage a university will sustain in an earthquake event, as well as interviews with staff and faculty relating the impact the earthquake had on their ability to continue providing service to the student population and how they met those needs. It may give your department a few ideas about preparations you can make to get through the next big one with fewer headaches.
