A High Condition is declared when there is a high risk of terrorist attacks.
In addition to the measures taken in the previous threat conditions, UCSC will consider the following protective measures:
- Increase Police presence and visibility at public events on campus, especially those that might attract persons outside our immediate campus community.
- Review the protocol for handling mail (available at the University Mailroom website: http://www.ucsc.edu/news_events/iraq/mail.html.)
- The University Police and Fire Departments working closely with Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies to assure a coordinated and swift response to assistance calls.
- Take additional precaution at public events;
- Restrict access to vulnerable facilities to essential personnel only.
Members of the campus community, in addition to the actions taken for the previous threat conditions, can:
- Review preparedness measures (including evacuation and sheltering) for potential terrorist actions including chemical, biological, and radiological attacks;
- Avoid high profile or symbolic locations; and
- Exercise caution when traveling.
