Chemical Exposure
UCSC employees, students, and visitors who are exposed to toxic compounds on campus may need to have the levels of exposure assessed and protective measures provided. EH&S industrial hygiene experts can monitor individuals and calculate the average exposure levels to a substance by a variety of means. Personal monitoring badges (about the size of a credit card) is one method used to collect exposure data, but other methods such as direct reading instruments, grab samples, or Draeger tubes may be employed.
