Institutional Biosafety Committee

The Institutional Biosafety Committee provides oversight for use of biological materials in teaching and research activities at UCSC. Individuals working with recombinant DNA, infectious agents, Select Agents, biological toxins or other listed material must contact the Campus Biosafety Officer to discuss completion of a Biological Use Authorization and steps for receiving institutional approval of their research proposal.

Biological Use Authorizations are managed through the UCOP Risk and Safety Solutions (RSS) Platform
